Well, they are in the Army. When they receive an order, they have to obey it.
Hence the problem of trying to have 'a life' with spouse and children, and have a military career. Hard to have a whole lot of sympathy, when everyone knew Big Green is the top priority.

Army families are strongly promoted by the Army. They know it helps lock servicemen and servicewomen into the force.
This is typical Army stepping on-its-d*ck. Too many losers in senior leadership to figure any of this out.
