After I moved to the Upper East Side in the late 1970s, I got propositioned by a rather nice-looking prostitute on 86th St., just after I got off the subway after work on a Friday afternoon.

She said, "You wanna date?"

I hate to admit it but my first thought was, "It's going to be easy to build a social life in NYC if the attractive girls just ask the guys out."

My next thought was, "Oops, that's not what's happening here.";-)
