Yes I fully understand how Europe was militant and involved in a complex web of alliances which led to war in August 1914. My entire point was a war can escalate and involve more nations.

This entire argument is strange. I was making a 1 line quip with a valid point that once a world war started when a relatively small conflict grew. That it might happen again—conjecture.
