JD VANCE says he would not support authorizing military action in Iran

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said Sunday he would not support military action against Iran on its own soil right now as threats continue to increase on U.S. troops in the Middle East.

CBS’s Margaret Brennan asked Vance on “Face the Nation” if he would authorize the use of force by President Biden against Iran as attacks on U.S. troops are rising in the Middle East.

“Right now, absolutely not,” Vance said. “I think that we should be trying to deescalate the situation. Of course, we need to have red lines, though. If the Iranians attack American troops, if they play —”

“They have, multiple times,” Brennan interjected.

“If they play an escalatory role in the conflict, we need to be willing to respond,” Vance continued. “They have attacked, certain militia groups have attacked and I think we’ve done the right thing, a proportionate response. If they hit us, we have to hit them back but if you’re talking about an attack on the Iranian mainland, I think that would be a significant escalation right now, it would be a mistake.”

Biden ordered U.S. military forces on Friday to carry out “self-defense airstrikes” on a weapons storage facility and an ammunition storage area used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated groups in eastern Syria.

There have been at least 19 attacks against U.S. and coalition forces in the Middle East over the past two weeks, including four times in Syria and 12 times in Iraq. There were also three new attacks on Thursday.

Agreed. Their leaders are a bunch of cult of death nut cases that don’t really CARE how many of their people they sacrifice, if it brings back their Mahdi from the bottom of that well, or whatever. I’ve said this since 9/12/2001, killing these nutcases or turning their deserts into glass is not going to solve the problem! That part of the world is infected with a virus more virulent and deadly than rabies, and we should treat them like rabid animals. We should stay the hell out of there and we should under no circumstances allow their cult members into our country. Unfortunately, our leaders, from W on down, have insisted that we can somehow reform these cultists, and by showing them the error of their ways, live with them like normal human beings. Our politicians insist on importing the madness into our country, like they think they will be grateful or something. Immediately after 9/11, we should have made it clear that Islam will be treated like any other deranged sect of terrorists and expelled from our midst. Instead, they go about stirring up hornets nests all over the middle east, then insisting that we have to accept the “refugees” Piss on that idea.

The Neocons in Washington always wanted a war with Iran after 9/11 they put our troops into Afghanistan bordering Iran on the East and Iraq bordering Iran on the West.

The unintended consequences of war.

It’s a complicated business.

Vance is a political doofus. What make such a pronouncement? It doesn’t matter what we think unless surrender is a palatable choice. Does anyone need reminding that Iran sincerely wants to erase a free and secular US? How many times does that need to made clear? While we may not wish to wage war on Iran,
Iran has no compunction against waging it against us.

Vance is just an idiot. He needs to moisten his finger a little bette before gaging the winds.

Vance is not an idiot. He is something worse. He is someone who pretends to be an idiot to get ahead.

He is fully funded by an eccentric Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, who truly has idiotic ideas and Vance is parroting these.

And it would not be just against Iran. The chinee would love our misapplication of military force and weapons. Absolutely love it. JoeBama is an absolute moron as are the psychophants around him who are lining their pockets.

First ferret out ALL of their inserted (chinee commies too) fighting 5th columns that JoeBama encouraged into our country from the Mexican border (and from Canada)— they all need to be found and kicked out or liquidated/rendered neutralized.

Think of the damage they could inflict while we waste our resources overseas.

<><>The US in the volatile mideast BEFORE we even tackle our southern border is ludicrous.
<><>The US should have NOTHING to do with this situation at all.
<><>If the US were to enter militarily it would be a huge mistake.
<><> As in the Afghanistan debacle, we’d get stuck having to take in unstable “foreign refugees.”

Military aid from US taxpayers has blanketed Israel over the years. They have more than enough resources, now, to nail Hamas and Hezbollah. Wealthy Israel has very low debt, and actually had a budget surplus this year, while the US is $33 trillion in debt, a debt which future generations are saddled with.

Iran is supplying Hezbollah with weapons, sure, but do they want to enter this war directly if they can help it? Israel knows the lay of the land there better than anyone so they must know igniting a regional war could actually threaten Israel’s very survival.

Why are some freepers cheering that on?

Yes- including the jizya ransom/protection payment paid to Iran who was protecting Osama bin Laden (whose death is nominally questionable in that the body was dumped in the ocean- and our “leadership” shown post mortem pics and “serum samples” confirming it as... him). Many are of the opinion that osama was flattened in the vast cave system of Tora Bora which was taken out in the odorless fuel-air explosion. osama was having daily dialysis in his cave sanctuary there. The fiction maintaining al-qaeda leadership was highly profitable and protection meant no more 9-11s- this is what is thought by peeling away the facade. The Saudis know what happened- and they still have to contain Iran. Biden f’d up all of the Abraham accords and set this loose of the world— what a moron he and Blinken/obamaumao destructively set up.
