“I would have taken those hearing aids out.”
I know, that’s what I thought when I heard about the hearing aid excuse. The family obviously knew about it so why didn’t they do something about it? Bizarre.
My instinct on hearing these types of stories, for men or women who commit crimes, are that the family is creating a load of BS to deflect blame from their family member and make them appear its either not thsir fault or they were having mental problems.
The fact is if this stuff was happening to a family member you knew about, you’d tell them to take the dam hearing aids out, and/or offer some mental help suggestions, to the point if you felt they were dangerous unstable, get an involuntary commitment, like a 72 hour hold.
I think its trying to diffuse accountability/responsibility. They do this all the time for men and especially women.
Maybe they were the surgically implanted type. Friend of mine has an implanted one, looks like he was rescued from a Borg cube ship minutes after they started the assimilation process.
