Israeli envoy slams remarks from Guterres at Security Council as justification for terror, as FM cancels meeting with him; Gantz calls him a ‘terror apologist’
Israeli officials railed at UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Tuesday after he appeared to suggest the impetus for the Hamas terror group’s devastating October 7 attack on Israel was the Jewish state’s continued control of Palestinian territories, with the Israeli Ambassador to the UN demanding that he resign.
“It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum,” Guterres said at a UN Security Council meeting on the Israel-Hamas war, which erupted when the terror group ravaged Israeli border communities, killing some 1,400 people, the vast majority of them civilians.

The UN Secretary General tried to correct, in Israel they do not forgive
The UN Secretary General met with the families of the abductees after his outrageous statement that the massacre by Hamas was not “carried out in a vacuum”. Arden: We will teach them a lesson.

Guterres tried to correct the outrageous statement he made just a few hours before in the Security Council according to which “Hamas attacks did not take place in a vacuum” and said that “nothing can justify the killing, injury and kidnapping of civilians by Hamas.”
The political system in Israel was outraged by Guterres’ words and his clarification did not quell the anger towards him either. Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, told Gali IDF this morning that significant steps will be taken in the field as a result. “As a result of these things, we will refuse visas to the UN representatives, we have already refused the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Aid Martin Griffith - it’s time we teach them a lesson.”

The only thing Israel did to the Palestinians is keep them the Hell out of their borders. What happened Oct. 7th is exactly why. It would be an either bigger blood bath if they didn’t.

BTW the “Palestinians” were always controlling narrative of “human rights” groups.
No one is going to help Israel. No one is going to side with Israel against Hamas. Israel will be roundly condemned by all the noble first world members of the UN for “embracing violence” no matter how long they wait to justifiably attack Hamas.
And with this admin in control I can see US forces intervening and firing on the IDF.
2024 is going to be an “interesting” year on all fronts.

It’s long been said that we should leave the U.N. & the U.N. should leave the USA.. Years ago, I remember Pat Buchanan saying this & that if they needed help moving, he had 10,000 Marines waiting to help get them moved. The building they would leave behind could always be cleaned up & put to good use. Seems like the U.N. has almost always been more trouble than they are worth in just about any situation.
