Has he supported aid to Ukraine? If so, then he’s a non-starter. Has he been part of McCarthy leadership team? If so, is a non-starter. We need fresh speaker.

If Johnson is the eventual speaker, here’s the incremental improvement (CR Liberty scores):

McCarthy: 54%

Scalise: 58%

Emmer: 69%

Johnson: 74%

Mike Johnson (R-LA) = moderate

Louisiana is on a roll. New Republican governor and now, possibly, a Speaker of the House.

Good for Louisiana.
