There’s a whole lot of people in college that have no business being there, that includes students, instructors, and professors. Many college degree programs actually dumb down students. The largest culprit is Ed programs, where completely below average high school students enter and subhumans graduate. Let’s choose that as the starting place in a cycle. Those subhumans then indoctrinate the next generation of children that will graduate high school completely unprepared for any real higher education. The weakest subset of that generation goes to indoctrination finishing school, otherwise known as college, to become teachers and the cycle repeats. Somewhere in the mix of this, the absolute worse become professors of education.
You know the old adage, those that cannot do, teach. The corollary to that is those who cannot teach, teach those that cannot do.
The cycle has to be broken.
One of the biggest improvements that could be made to the public system at the state level would be to remove the requirement for an education degree to teach at the K12 level. This would eliminate the need for that degree making the Colleges of Education redundant.
Make the requirement a 1-year teaching apprenticeship at a public school. Also push hiring down to the individual school level done by a committee of parents, teachers & head school administrator (principal).
