Israel has the military might to wipe out all of hezbollah and hamas. Why didn’t they in the past but all of sudden they are threatening genocide now? It is not like hamas has not done this before. The US bombed isis into oblivian. Why did we do that as opposed to letting the group stick around?
Strategic analysis is ugly since we live in an evil world but one can not simply discount potential root causes. How many times do we hear “follow the money”? By the way, the US does something similar with china and russia. Both are created into “huge” threats to justify the industrial military complex. The US constantly gets into unnecessary wars, gets soldiers killed yet achieves nothing except to fund the building of more weapons.
