All these years, I was under the false impression that Israeli citizens were armed, much like America. I was wrong. Apparently it has been difficult for them to own firearms.
It is insane that a government would so disarm its citizenry when under constant threat. Reports of those who DID have arms show that they were effective in defending themselves and others.

Another consequence of liberalism and the Nanny State. Having now had the cost of their choices demonstrated beyond deniability Israel has expanded gun ownership. I can only hope the lesson learned is remembered for the future. America must heed and prioitize self defense capabilities.

According to the ministry’s updated conditions, any Israeli citizen interested in obtaining a permit, either for self-defense or because they are serving in the IDF, will be entitled to a gun license, provided that they have medical approval, police approval, and passed the exams for carrying private firearms.
