My theory (at least I haven’t read it elsewhere yet) is that Trump was way out in front endorsing Jim Jordan. The gang of 25 GOP-demonkkraps were not going to vote for Jim Jordan bc of their visceral hatred for Trump.

When the vote became secret, if 112 opposition total votes against Jordan is correct, then that means 87 other presumed anti-Trumpers were in their “safe space” to vote. We know the kind, run as a conservative,maybe run as MAGA to trick Trump base to vote for them ... then vote in House as a demonkkrap.

One good thing about no speaker, is that nothing is getting done in the House. A real givernment shutdown and nobody misses them.

All that it takes for one representative to effectively exercise House majority power is to publicly complain that no representatives are upholding their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution.

After all, the vast majority of legislation that the House is making, especially spending bills, is greatly overreaching the federal government's constitutionally limited powers.

So primary them all in 2024, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company, Jordan (and others?).

"Dear Honorable congressman Schmucky, I saw how you blocked a good candidate for Speaker. Since you are working against my best interests, I plan to work against yours in the next election. Since you have no principles I will assume turnabout is fair play. Please share this with your staff because this goes for them as well. You are all going to be Liz Cheney 2.0 and go down in history books for your betrayal of Constitutional liberty and freedom.

I supported John James on both his Senate runs, and wished him well as I am not a resident in his district. He showed promise early on, but he showed his colors on the debt ceiling voter earlier this year. I prefer Jordan as Speaker. But the idea that 4% of the Republican Caucus could combine with 100% of the Democrats to topple the Speaker of the House, for the first time ever, and that the remaining 96% of the Republican Caucus would reward the 4% by electing a Speaker more to their liking, was always insane.

And for those screaming “Rinos” do you understand that Gaetz has set the precedent that whenever Republicans control the House, ((Republican seats) - (Democrat seats) + 1 Rinos) can combine with all the Democrats to remove the Republican Speaker anytime they want to? There is a reason this had never happened before, and the reason is not that Matt Gaetz is smarter, or braver, than those who have been in Congress previously.
