Miami Florida has a majority black and brown population, with a Hispanic mayor, yet they rarely show up on these reports. What's more, at least through 2018, their crime rate was dropping faster than the national average. So what's different about them?

Their mayor is a Republican.

Most violent crimes are never reported to the police.

Bureau of Justice Statistics: "About 46% of violent victimizations were reported to police in 2021"

For a more accurate assessment of crime in your city, it ay be more accurate to count murders (because it's hard to hide bodies) and car thefts (because insurance companies require a police report).

A more important factor is what is the population of these cities; race, employment percentages, welfare, school performance.

And yet, NONE of these high crime 'communities' listed look like MAGA cities.

While it would have been nice if this were true, it wasn’t reality, at least not for homicides. Black homicide rates were similar to those in the 80’s and slightly higher than today’s. How much of this is related to improved survival rates from ag assaults due to advances in emergency medicine? Who knows? Page 13 of the paper below gives a summary of the per capita homicide rate over the decades.

I stand corrected. Thank you for pointing out my error. I dug into the literature and official data and wonder how I got things so wrong. My guess is that it is due to some poorly remembered bit that I read years ago. I hold to my larger point: that Leftist policies have aggravated crime rates and other pathologies for Black Americans.

The numbers for Blacks are 12 does 60. The 12 percent of the black population does 60 percent of the violent crime.

By ratio, the 9.5% in Knoxville is responsible for 48 percent of the violent crime.

Without them the Knoxville rate would be Crime rate = ~25
