Were any of RFK, Jr.,'s ancestors in the US before the Civil War? If they were "famine Irish," then probably. Did any of them fight in the Union Army?

In any case, I'm not interested in his ideas on reparations. No one who was a slave in the US is alive today. Most white Americans are descended from people who were dirt-poor in the 19th century, or who came to America after 1865, and had no involvement in slavery.

If slavery is so bad, why isn't anyone working to end it where it still exists today?

Reparations are not about slavery. Reparations are about ‘equity’, equalizing the new worth of the average black with respect to the average white.
