Do I support the IDF. Yes. Without a doubt. But make no mistake. Gaza’s going to be a nightmare along the lines of Grozny, Mosul, Fallujah, Hue, and Stalingrad.
Here’s the difference. The IDF can’t pick up it’s toys and go home. They share a border with these assholes. But it will be house to house and room to room.
I just expect a lot of hand wringing from the media when things go kinetic. But I’ll remind everyone of a little bit of wisdom from Vietnam veteran and Sci fi author David Drake: “When you give a 19 year old kid a rifle, and put him in a war? He will make whatever rules he has to to get out alive.”
A lot of IDF members are going to be living by that mantra really soon. I pray their success, however long it takes, and that they end Hamas utterly.
