Why can’t Israel simply ban and expel Hamas from Gaza?

Do I support the IDF. Yes. Without a doubt. But make no mistake. Gaza’s going to be a nightmare along the lines of Grozny, Mosul, Fallujah, Hue, and Stalingrad.
Here’s the difference. The IDF can’t pick up it’s toys and go home. They share a border with these assholes. But it will be house to house and room to room.
I just expect a lot of hand wringing from the media when things go kinetic. But I’ll remind everyone of a little bit of wisdom from Vietnam veteran and Sci fi author David Drake: “When you give a 19 year old kid a rifle, and put him in a war? He will make whatever rules he has to to get out alive.”
A lot of IDF members are going to be living by that mantra really soon. I pray their success, however long it takes, and that they end Hamas utterly.
Except the Egyptians ...
When the Egyptians get their Fakestinian people back from Gaza district, they at least know how to deal with terrorist gangsters, bomb Throwers, and mass murderers. The Israelis are still “humanitarian” and patently incompetent at executing this Satanic filth.
Cairo doesn’t want them. Try Mogadishu. Relocate the UN there to oversee resettlement.
I like the way you think. We can call it land for abridgment of the peace.
