As long as the public schools are ‘free’, I don’t care what they teach my kids. Living in that nice house that I deserve, with F150, and the boat, oh that nice boat, is FAR MORE IMPORTANT, at least to me - and the ‘free’ schools let me afford it all!!!
(most ‘conservatives’ that I work with think the above, even if they don’t quite say so - their actions speak louder than their words)
Over 30 years ago in a different Florida county, I and hundreds like me, fought against the Sex Ed curriculum
We fought hard!
We won!
I love the way the media fails to report even a little on the actual curriculum in question.
“Class...class! Mr. Jones and I welcome you to the first sex education class of the year. You may have noticed that Mr. Jones and I are completely nude. That is because we will be teaching you some of our favorite sexual techniques. And...since this class requires your full participation, we would like you also to get undressed. You are free to video these lessons for later study.”
Here’s what the schools should do about sex education:
Compel all parents with a kid in the school system to attend sex education classes.
Teach how much it will cost the parents financially and socially if an underage daughter gets pregnant.
Teach how anti-male the courts are in awarding child support, which would hobble a teenage son’s life and drain the parents.
Teach how to talk to their children about responsibility for their sexuality, which is like a loaded gun — it’s a matter of life and death for the fetus; and for the pregnant partners, it’s the end of childhood, carefree teenage fun, and undistracted preparation for adult success—for years to come, if not forever.
