He was elected for a term that expired decades ago. Governments are trying to make Abbas relevant because they want someone to deal with. The “Palestinians” have no government. The best they can come up with are various terror groups who attract members by being more anti-Israeli than anyone else. Imagine a homeowner’s association, but with guns.
And the POTATUS isn’t running anything.
