Some people here on Free Republic, will comment based on their dislike of someone, rather than discuss what that person said.
Here we see some expressing dislike of DeSantis, and not discussing what he said.
How do we respond and have discussions here, with someone dropping one liners such as calling him Meatball, and saying nobody cares what he says?
You've cracked the code. These people do not want to have discussions, much less intelligent discussions. If they wanted to have intelligent discussions, they would make intelligent comments. They don't. They defecate childish insults. Childish insults, namecalling, and stereotyping serve their purpose of STIFLING intelligent discussion.
About all one can do with the immature is to not bother to try to have a mature discussion with them and to ignore them until they have something rational to say.
