I think it can be safely said that our government is derelict on preventing terrorist attacks (after all we’ve been through since 911 and all the money and effort that has gone into it) and we as Americans just need to learn to protect ourselves and to be vigilant, as well as armed, for whatever may come our way.

That has been going on for at least 10 years. I used to live and work on the Texas/Mexico border. Local news stories focused on this and all the OTM’s being caught. That was in 2011.
