Other than Trump every candidate has been a unity candidate, that’s the problem. They are all on the same team, just pretending to be in opposition to make it look like there is a choice. This really means ‘let’s not split the uniparty ticket with our little two-parties con this time, just just pick one of us and let them take down Trump’

The idea is a non-starter. Romney did not want to be president, so he took a dive in 2012. He would most certainly not want to be vice president.

It's hard for the younger generations to understand, but I would rather have as President the guy who served as a capable on-budget administrator for the Topeka Water District than some celebrity whose daily bills were paid by some aide ten levels down who was never allowed to speak to the boss. :)
A President is the Commander in Chief and the Chief Administrator of the United States - not the National Talk Show Host. That's why governors are much better at the job than legislators - and Obama's core competency was NCAA Tournament brackets.
