As for FDR, isn't there a reasonable school of thought claiming that FDR knew of the attack, but let it go forward to change public opinion about entering the war? Are you suggesting this is what Bibi did?

Anything is possible. We don’t know enough. But I doubt it. I think Mossad knew that Hamas was going to do something but they probably underestimated the capabilities of Hamas tonpull off something like this.
The largest attack on Israeli soil attack is the fault of Hamas. Missing it was coming is the fault of Netanyahu, Mossad, Shin Bet and Aman.
It is sad to say, but I don’t think they were ever getting any of those hostages back alive. Criticze Bibi and the Mossad and the IDF for being caught so unawares. But for not getting the hostages back?

I am. As far as Biden goes, the moment he “negotiated” a hostage swap (and $6bil) with Iran, that got Hamas thinking, “hey, sounds like something we might as well try! Easy money!”
