Link, please. I am from Louisiana and worked for Dow Chemical before retiring, so have a reasonable knowledge of salt domes. As long as they are filled with brine, they won't collapse. The oil is pumped in and floats above the brine (forcing brine out of the dome). To remove oil, the brine is pumped back in, forcing the oil out. The only thing that I know could cause collapse is if some idiot pumps in air by mistake.
