It wouldn’t surprise me if Syria is either tipping off Israel, or tacitly supporting the strikes, as Syria is in a bind with Hamas and Iran, as they were need to help them fight off the Neocon-created civil war there, and now Syria is stuck with their transport flights to arm-up the radicals.
I base this on the Syrian government being highly secular - to the point where even their large Christian population feels safe (to the extent possible in a Muslim-ruled country), so they have to know that Hamas and Iran would just love to someday install a government in Syria more aligned with ‘the cause’.
Interesting. Things are not as black and white as it may sometimes appear.
