The Bible is referring to bloodline Israel... Hitler made the same mistake in Mein Kampf, his definition of Israel was bloodline when they did not exist at that point in time, but the maniacal attempt to kill off the assumed bloodline was a literal error of profound evil intent.
Bloodline Israel disappeared after the Babylonian captivity, but perhaps it started in the Assyrian captivity as well. Some believe that the bloodline Israel is lost and know not who they are. Others beleive the NT statement that if you believe in Jesus you are of Abraham and heirs to the promise (i.e a bloodline member).
And those of the Jewish faith even state that Judism is not a bloodline but a faith, and have made that statement for as long as I can recall.
