Nobel Peace Prize awarded to imprisoned activist Narges Mohammadi for fighting against the oppression of women in Iran.
Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi has been awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize for her fight for women's rights in Iran.
“She fights for women against systematic discrimination and oppression,” said Berit Reiss-Andersen, the chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee who announced the prize in Oslo.
Authorities arrested Mohammadi in November after she attended a memorial for a victim of 2019 protests.

I remember that day well here on Free Republic. There were numerous comedy threads that day, making fun of Obama having won the Nobel Peace Prize for not having accomplished anything.
The current Iranian regime is evil in the eyes of the Liberal Mainstream Media but that same Liberal Mainstream Media told me in the late 1970’s that the Shah of Iran was evil and they puffed up the Ayatollah Khomeni.

I’m not denying the authoritarian nature of Iran and the Iran-Israel conflict which to me is more important than any kiss up to Marxist-Leninist Feminism in this Nobel Prize Award.

I think the award is legit for this woman fighting the islamo-fascists in Iran.
But I agree with you. Trump did incredible good things for peace in the Middle East. He clearly merit a Nobel Peace price for that. He never got it though... because of powerful lobbyists hating him.
It’s never too late though. Trump may still get it. Lets hope.
I thought Jou-Bai-Den was scheduled to win this year’s Peace prize for resolving the Russia-Ukraine war. Made sense if Obama could win it for a speech and “good” intentions.
