Having been the victim of corporate politics, I can tell you that stripping the symbol of office is the first thing the new guy will do. In the cat kingdom, he’d pee on the walls too, a bit higher than Nancy’s mark.

Absolutely true and it happens fast. Anybody who has played that game knows that symbols of power mean as much as the power itself. It is also part of the game to send a clear signal that the command has changed. I do not consider myself petty but if the office has been vacated and succession of the stripes were up to me the change would be almost instantaneous.
Knowing how high on a wall a cat can pee says a lot about YOU!!
