You people continue to demonstrate your ignorance of governance. The dems have the Senate and the WH! The Speaker has to work with the party in control of the other parts of the govt! How is this unable to be understood by the people of this website???

Do the Dems have to work with the Rep-controlled House, which has the power of the purse? Why is McCarthy making all the concessions? What "victories" have we achieved.

McCarthy has considerable power. He isn't using it. If the situation were reversed you can bet a Nancy Pelosi would be asserting her power. All appropriation bills must originate in the House.

And Shumer has a very thin majority in the Senate, 51-49, yet Schumer governs like he has an overwhelming majority.
