Very sloppy conflation of two categories. They are not "adjacent" categories nor synonymous. Political correctness is about politics and political enforcement. Prosecuting -- which is not necessarily punishing -- some one of alleged crime without a statute of limitations is not politically correct, nor enforcement of any political stance per se.

What a relief that who knows how many $Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent trying to punish someone who was originally mistaken for someone else. But then was sent to two other countries where Israelis let him off but politically correct Germans sent him to prison where he died.
