Not to worry. The auto unions will push their government flunkies to implement so many expensive “safety features” through regulation that the vehicle will become unaffordable.

Unions have nothing to do with safety.
The story only says it could “hypothetically” change the U.S. Market.
It won't until it meets safety, and Homologation and finally meet certification to be sold in a the U.S. Market. Same goes for Europe. A bunch of noise at this point.
The is a reason you don't Chinese vehicles on U.S. roads is relative to the statement above.
My company purchases Chinese commercial, and passenger vehicles and modify them to be sold in U.S. and European Markets.
