“The sacrifice of the Ukrainians and their nation, with no possible hope of a good outcome, simply to cause as much trouble for Russia as possible, will go down as the most shameful foreign policy event in the history of the United States.”

You sound like someone who would readily surrender to anyone who so much as farted in your general direction.

Ukraine simply wants to remain independent and in charge of its own destiny.

I’ll leave you with something Winston Churchill said (though it is something you will not understand): “If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

This war that Russia has thrust upon Ukraine is an existential one for Ukraine: Ukraine wishes not to “survive” if survival means being just a mere Russian vassal state.

*******

That “appeasing Hitler” argument has been trotted out by the warmongers so many times.

You are going to have to give security guarantees to Russia at some point, you can’t place offensive forces on their doorstep. They’ve been telling you that for 20 years.

You had the Minsk agreement, you should have honored it. Bet you wish you could have that deal again.

Fascists do what fascists do, though.
