Maybe you should sober up. No Libertarian has gotten more votes than Gary Johnson, he got 3 percent, and he wasn’t a litmus test libertarian. The next highest was 1 percent.
RFK Jr. is pulling 20 percent in Democrat primary polls, and some hypothetical polls, he’s getting 30 percent as an independent. He is appealing to many times the libertarian base.
And, you think he should become a litmus-test libertarian? That would be him sobering up so he could actually win, that would be him joining you in fantasy land.
No, what RFK Jr. would have to do, if this is even possible, is tone down the conspiracy theory and triangulate his left positions enough to be acceptable to enough libertarians to win their nomination, while holding onto his basically left-wing conspiracy.

Just pointed out that RFK Jr has no libertarian standing if his past statements mean anything. The list is long because in the not-so-distant past he has made a lot of hard-core leftist environmentally wacky statements!
He’s a professional politician and a Kennedy so what he claimed to stand for in the past can be discarded today and in the future. It will never be remembered or brought up. After all Ted was once anti-abortion!

Easter is where he will have to cut bait and ensure all 50 state ballots -- which LP has done, but only since 2016 -- because the Demoncrats will sue to keep them off the ballot in almost every blue state. I figure RFK jr pulls 3 Biden : 1.5 Trump. It's an endgame scenario for Biden, can't win with RFK jr on the LP ticket.
Neither RFK nor Libertarians are agains vaccines. Both are against mandates. Libertarians agains subsidies. (Problem for RFK generally). Libertarians are for guns. (Problem for RFK generally). Both want to return to a pre WWI international status. How to transition an economy back to being a regional power is the dwithout a depression disconnect.
The BEST thing about this thread, is people are discussing from which party RFKjr would siphon the most votes.

Neither is the Libertarians!! I was a member in the 1990s and the LP had good ideas on some things, yet many were crazy. They wanted open borders before the Dems wanted it.

RFK, Jr., switching to Lib would get ballot access, and get enough votes and new registered Libs to keep the Libs on the ballot in all 50 states. The Libs have always been a diverse group. Some Libs want to abolish stop signs, while others favor free trade. RFK, Jr., would bring in new party members who might agree on basic things like no vax mandates, and accountability for Big Pharma for bad vax side effects for the Covid vax scam. I don’t see a down side for the Libs if they nominate RFK, Jr. They could even win a governorship, House or Senate seat in 2024 in the right place with 34% of the vote.
Democrats move in lockstep. For Democrats now politics isn’t about policy, it’s about the narrative and Trump as the bad guy. Some of the rank and file Dems may vote for Kennedy, but libs aren’t breaking ranks. It’s not hard to convince the people who are still wearing masks that Bobby Junior is the Antichrist.
