How Democrats Destroyed Chicago
msn ^ | 09/22/2023 | Carver Malone

The Democrat-led city of Chicago is facing skyrocketing crime, homelessness, and drug use, among other problems.

As a result, many businesses are fleeing the city. Customers simply refuse to put themselves in harm’s way, which causes sales to plummet.

This ultimately results in employees losing their jobs as businesses are forced to close. Ken Griffin, who was the richest man in Illinois at $29 billion, moved his multi-billionaire hedge fund Citadel from Illinois to Florida.

Walgreens and Aldi have also shut down stores in Chicago. The Democrats’ refusal to confront crime and appropriately fund law enforcement has ultimately destroyed the city.

Chicago Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson says he wants to open “taxpayer-funded, city-owned grocery stores” in order to deal with the problem of businesses shutting down.

“Chicago Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson says he wants to open “taxpayer-funded, city-owned grocery stores” in order to deal with the problem of businesses shutting down.”

Of course, being “city-owned” means that these places won’t have to close when the locals help themselves to all the merchandise without bothering to pay for it. The taxpayers can just pony up more money to re-stock.

THAT would be great.

I wonder how much, in kick backs, could be baked in to that operation?

That’s how I look at/question EVERYTHING they do.

Yes. Or San Fran, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, LA, etc.

Cities may not have been as good as they were in the 40s and 50s, but they were at least somewhat livable.

I suspect.. A LOT

But, they need to be forced to live by THEIR OWN rules here.

OIL is EVIL.. NO plastics, ANYWHERE.

RENEWABLE ONLY. They must run, directly, on Wind Solar.

0 emssions. And NO emssions, so, I am guessing coolant in Refridge units is a no go.

Obesity epidemic!! Only 100% natural/ Healthy! No candy, processed, containing transfats, chemicals, etc.

A LIVING wage for all!! The managers should not be paid 1 cent more than the person just hired. That would be INEQUITY!

Why did Caterpillar move its headquarters to Texas?
Expenses were a major factor in Caterpillar’s decision. The total cost of living in suburban Deerfield, Illinois is 26% higher than Irving, Texas.

For example, Illinois commuters are paying the fifth–highest gas prices in the nation. Illinois residents also pay the nation’s highest combined state and local tax burden.Jun 15, 2022.

A woman accused of attacking four Chicago police officers has been released from custody after a new state law went into effect abolishing cash bail.

Esmeralda Aguilar, 24, a resident of the Chicago suburb of Cicero, is charged with four counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer over the incident that allegedly occurred over the weekend.

Aguilar was arrested moments after the alleged attack in the downtown area. However, she was released Monday, the same day the Pretrial Fairness Act, which is part of the SAFE-T Act, went into effect.

The motto for sanctuary cities should be “Amplecti Lac “, or “Embrace the Suck.”

I don’t know Latin, would appreciate confirmation or correction.

20 years ago, even under dem control, there were very few that would have said Chicago is going the way of the rustbelt or other dem cities of the Midwest, such as Detroit...

+++++++++++

Your statement above is so very true. I never would have believed Chicago was following in Detroit’s footsteps, but it is 100% happening. Just like 20 years ago I thought GWB2 was on our side. Now I know better. Just shows you that you live and learn.

What destroyed the rust belt was Free Trade and offshoring. The drugs and the crime came after that.

The right wing destroyed the industrial belt/base and the left wing promoted free sh!t, drugs and crime. A two pronged attack.

Recall that labor unions artificially raised labor costs way beyond what could be justified in the market and those unions protected lazy, low-quality workers. That led to the offshoring.

City owned grocery stores? What makes the mayor think these stores will be immune to shoplifters & looters?

Communist countries provide an example of gov’t run stores: Empty shelves, long lines, & slim pickings. Add in efforts to be Earth friendly, anti-racist, & LBGTPXYZ... compatible, & your food choices will be limited to crickets & soy products.

This should be fun to watch as customers realize what their new reality is.

With all due respect, I disagree in part. Here’s just six black conservatives that COULD turn Chicago around if only they would run for election and get elected.

That said, it is highly unlikely any of these six would subject themselves to the misery of being Mayor of Chicago.

Mark Robinson is my fave. He wouldn’t take any crap off any of the Chicago Black “Political” Mafia.

Right wing Myth. At the height of unionized labor in the 1950's the number of manufacturing jobs that were unionized was around 25%. Most of the offshored jobs were non-union to begin with.
