"The plane was flying in tandem with another jet, which returned to base after the mishap rather than following the pilot-less aircraft."Unreal.

“.. after the super-advanced stealth aircraft suffered a malfunction over Charleston.”
I’m guessing the malfunction was the idiot “flying” it.
No concern for civillians just jump out and save its own ass.

TRUTH is either lost or hidden after the first few hours after an incident. This one is no exception. Spin and confusion take over. To find the truth you have to destroy everything else because it is now believed by someone(s).

No.

“I’m of the opinion the plane was hacked.”
Maybe. Rumor has it the wrong software package was loaded.
“The hacker ejected the pilot and who knows what the intentions were for the plane.”
The ejection seat in an F35 (and basically any plane) is 100% independent of the rest of the bird’s systems, by design.

He sounded relatively calm and lucid on the 911 call.
It's the Daily Mail (and nowadays, most of the Interwebs). Sensationalize things that aren't that bad.

Nope. He’s a very well-educated and smart guy, just like most American fighter pilots. Probably an engineer.
Been a while since I saw data, but I think average IQ of American combat pilots is 130. The only group with a higher average are electronic countermeasure officers, who are generally insanely brilliant.

Some of those muscles might be coming after you if they figure out that’s an acronym.
And can figure out what it spells.

Me too. Hacked by China , possibly using a military satellite. We know they are buying up land near our military bases and flying high altitude balloons over the same. For what ? To eavesdrop on radio signals among other.

HE DID EJECT-—
WHETHER HE INSTIGATED IT OR HE WAS HACKED is a matter of question.

An acronym, like My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment, Sir? Wasn't there a reason for not giving them their own equipment, especially new equipment?
And can figure out what it spells.
Wouldn't that require intelligence to do?

Grounded? They are flying overhead every day here. They are the F-35B variant from the local MCAS and it is business as usual.

Was this guy smart enough to read the instruction manual for this jet which warns not to fly it in electrical storms?

Unless it was a hack, and he returned to base so we wouldn’t lose two of them. Two would be pretty hard to explain away.

I guess that could be the case. I just read the calmness of his voice and demeanor to be pretty matter-of-factly....I suspect it would have been a little more stressed or even panicked if someone had given him the heave-ho.

I could be wrong but not since my dads f100 and f104 days sixty years ago have fighter pilots had freedom to eff around flying their birds much
Now my dad could almost do what he wanted outta sight
When he flew out of Greenville Miss he’d tree top my grandpas cabin at lake bruin louisuana sending my grandpa to the deck at mossy cypress tree top level or harass barges on the Mississippi right across the levee
I don’t think it’s easy to play around now
They can always “see you”
Yeager flew quite old btw
