Last year, the United States finally passed that elusive mark — 5 percent of all new cars sold in the fourth quarter were fully electric.

And this year EVs sit on the lot, unwanted.

This year, many new gas vehicles also sit on the lot because the high interest rates make them unaffordable.

The price drops by Tesla and the subsidies are making them more competitive, at least in urban/suburban areas.
