I’ve been following this case closely and this is a small victory, as it was only about severing the 2 defendants who asked for a speedy trial away from the other 17.
Fani’s argument on that motion was weak, and the judge had already indicated that he was inclined to sever before she argued the motion.
This has nothing to do with the meat of the trial. The first defendants, Chesebro and Powell, will begin their trial in October.
