COVID was something new, the media was in full-blown politically motivated hysteria, NO ONE really knew what to do about it. Yes, Trump closed the country down for 14 days, but it was the governors of most of the states that locked them down for an entire year or more. Trump urged governors to reopen. I don’t know if he had the power to order them to reopen. He didn’t impose any mandates requiring people to get vaccinated, that was the governors.
Yes, he made mistakes, but given the situation, I don’t know if anyone could have handled it any better. Just think for a moment what would have happened if Hillary Clinton had been in charge.
I tend to agree. If Trump did what the revisionist are now saying he should have done it would just not have worked. Btw, the media made Fauci more than Trump did. Trump brought him to the briefings because he was running the response do he’s the person who would have the most relevant data to brief. Trump was being transparent. You can definitely fault him for that if you want but just saying Trump made him is BS. Trump often times openly disagreed with him and the media said that Trump was going people as a result. What Trump could have done was get the information in the background and tell his Press Secretary what he wants the messaging to be and we wouldn’t know the thought process. This is what transparency brought. Really, people looking backwards wish Trump was more traditional in his approach and just lied to us through a 3rd party. Sorry, this is one od the things I love about Trump and how he managed the government.
Coronaviruses were discovered in the early 1930s. Good try though.
“Trump closed the country down for 14 days”
Each state was close by its respective governor. Except SD.
