Journalist Megyn Kelly interrogated former President Donald Trump this week over his elevation of the controversial Dr. Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic — noting that the 45th president formally honored Fauci before departing the White House.
“Not only did you not fire Fauci, who is loathed by many — millions of Republicans in particular, but also some Democrats — you made him a star,” Kelly said during an interview that aired on SiriusXM.
“This is the criticism of you, that you made him the face of the White House Coronavirus Task Force — he was out at every presser — that he was running herd for the administration on COVID, and that you actually gave him a presidential commendation before you left office. Wouldn’t you like a do-over on that?” she asked.
Trump denied knowing who gave Fauci a presidential commendation, which was awarded during his last full day in the White House, Jan. 19, 2021. “I overrode many of the things he did. He was much less important to me,” Trump contended. “Now, with that all being said, he’s been there for years. He was respected. He lost a lot of the respect because of COVID.” *** “I never got I think the credit that I deserved on COVID.”
Another grievance among conservatives has been the development on Trump’s watch of the COVID-19 vaccine, which has limited serious illness but has not been effective at stopping transmission of the virus.
“I never gave mandates and people have to make up their own, you know, make their own decision, as far as I’m concerned,” Trump said of the vaccines. ***

Covid was one of Trump’s problem issues. He needs to admit that they were acting in good faith on bad information and be done with it. The Democrats and any and all Republican candidates are equally guilty and have nothing to gain by pushing the Covid narrative.

As for the overall response of the Trump administration-NO ONE thought doctors could be lying frauds at the time.
President Trump did the best he could. He did not FORCE the vax on anyone.
It was developed as an EXPERIMENTAL treatment for the frightened sheep, who were psychologically terrified by their televisions, (commercials every few seconds of sight and sound of person on ventillator......) into not leaving their homes, (I have neighbors who did not leave their home, or even answer their door, for a solid year).
President Trump also mentioned alternative treatments that turned out to have worked, (and we might have been able to avoid the lockdowns and all the subsequent damage, entirely), but, "doctors" and "scientists" lied repeatedly about this.
(Who knew they could be such liars?)
And how do we know that the "vaccines" were not changed after Bidan started FORCING them on everyone? (Seems like the reports of injury increased after the forcing was started?)
Why not ask Bidan about forcing the shots, and other questions?
President Trump did the best he could do under terrible circumstances. (The travel ban was a good idea and conceivably, so was trying to develop something to treat the problem as quickly as possible).
Our country was able to open, despite the physical, and psychological, attacks on it, by, I believe, both foreign and domestic entities, intent on destroying it.
Someday, hopefully, there will be trials to find out the truth about what happened during Covid.
It’s not what Megyn is saying, it’s what Trump is saying now, and what he did while president. That’s the problem. He makes stupid decisions and lies to his followers. He’s bragged about how he can say anything he wants and not lose support.
Fauci was head of the Center for Infectious Disease. He could easily have been left in that position while Trump chose somebody else for the Covid Czar position. They did not have to be the same person, and there is no law nor regulation that required it. Dems would have squealed, because they’re Dems, but they could not have stopped it. Presidents have full power to choose czars.
Trump could have picked somebody who had some freakin’ common sense, like say, Rand Paul to run covid. But no, it had to be the swampiest of evil swamp creatures.
Trump owns this. 100%. Fauci is just another name on the long, long list of destructive, agenda-driven people that Trump allowed in positions of power in his administration, to all of our detriment.
