Nothing to forgive me for, FRiend. I have never, ever wished for my parents’ and grandparents’ generations to die off. Or any generation, for that matter.
I was responding to a poster who said it will be a great thing when all the Boomers are gone. I think that’s a despicable thing to say, but I’ve heard others from the younger generations say things like that, too.
If my dad were still alive, he’d be 94 and my mom would be 91. My dad did his part to make sure we didn’t grow up Soviet. He was a Navy pilot for 28 years and his war was the Cold War.

My own generation pales in comparison to my late father’s. He was hit by a shell fragment in the head while fighting in WWII in the Philippines. Had a plate in his head after that but never quit working.
