Donald Trump has an enormous lead over his rivals in every poll of GOP voters in Georgia. He has soaked up attention and fundraising dollars. And some Republicans say the sweeping charges leveled against the former president have only reinforced their support for him.
Yet, in a clear sign of deep squeamishness over Trump, most of the state’s top Republican elected officials have yet to back his comeback bid or — in rare cases — are siding with other GOP hopefuls they see as more formidable challengers to President Joe Biden.
The skepticism over Trump extends far beyond Gov. Brian Kemp and other statewide officials who spurned his demands to overturn his election defeat — and then walloped Trump-backed challengers that the former president promoted to exact revenge.
Only a handful of Republican elected officials have backed the former president so far this election cycle, as even key Trump loyalists have avoided endorsing him...
...
“Not a single swing voter in a single swing state will vote for our nominee if they choose to talk about the 2020 election being stolen,” Kemp told Republican donors earlier this year...
While Kemp’s stance is not surprising, the cautious approach from Trump-aligned politicians is. Many of the most ardent Trump supporters have yet to endorse him — including Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who won an open race last year with the former president’s support.
...
“Some people are disappointed. They love Trump. I get that — it’s OK. But we’re determining our own future,”...
“The people who are loving Trump — I get it,” McCormick said. “But I think they’ll come around.”
Trump’s top allies in Georgia say they’re confused why more high-profile Republicans haven’t formally endorsed him yet, particularly those who backed him in 2016 and 2020.

reno still trying to stir -— @#!^ up
as usual.
If you have a substantive comment to share, please you of all Freepers should not be criticizing posts considering your history of spamming FR. This article I just posted is relevant and shares the independence of Georgia elected officials, some support Trump, some benefited from his support, obviously don’t. Surely you have some observations about what is going on in Georgia, or do you just want to complain about the topic even being brought up?

It must be a day that ends with the letter “y”. ;-)
Rush called this leftist rag “The Journal Constipation.” He was right. Never let the truth get in the way of constipation. Pay no attention to the clown with a backpack.
lol....
Are you going to threaten to post bad things about Trump, because there are factual posts that talk about what a bad, corrupt, low performance candidate desantis is, and you can’t make up rebuttals to dispute the facts?
Oh wait... you do that anyway, and pretend you don’t
>> Rush called this leftist rag “The Journal Constipation.”
Actually I think it was “The Urinal Constipation”.
McCormick is my rep. Super _RINO who only won bcause he had name recognition. I won’t be voting for that asshole again.
The grass roots in the big counties are MAGA Patriots. We took over the Republican county party leadership in at least 6-8 major counties, and the state party, in this year’s convention cycle. The GOPEs are still crying in their scotch / Chardonnay.
It is amazing how out of touch the top leadership was with the people.
I stand corrected.......................
Thanks for reminding me of Rush and his talent for properly labeling the Left. I miss him!

Thanks for sharing. That’s some of the best news I’ve heard today!
Interesting that only the little people support President Trump, the high & the mighty are either supporting the Uniparty & Biden or awaiting to see which way the wind’s blowing closer to primary day.
I am not threatening anything. As you do, I will post whatever I want and feel is relevant to our shared discussion.
I welcome and invite your thoughtful comments. Let’s have a substantive and respectful discussion, okay?

He even stoops so low as to quote the Alanta Journal Constitution. By the way Reno has never responded to my questions about him being on the DeSantis payroll.
There is no replacement for Rush. Tucker has his own niche, but different.
Okay, what say you both about yourselves on each of these points? Fair is fair, I've again answered, now, respectfully, share your answers. Thank you.
