A New York state judge on Wednesday rejected Donald Trump's bid to delay a scheduled Oct. 2 trial in state Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud lawsuit accusing him, family members and his business of overvaluing assets by billions of dollars.
Trump and the other defendants had said the trial should be "briefly" delayed until three weeks after Justice Arthur Engoron ruled on both sides' requests for summary judgments, which seek victory on various legal issues without the need for a trial.
In a Tuesday night court filing, Trump accused James of "callous disregard" of a June 27 appeals court decision that prevented her from suing over loans that took place too long ago, "substantially" limiting the claims remaining for trial.
But in a one-sentence order, Engoron called Trump's arguments for a delay "completely without merit."
The judge had earlier this year said the Oct. 2 trial date would not change "come hell or high water." *** Separately, the defendants on Tuesday demanded that James withdraw what they called her "frivolous" motion to sanction them and their lawyers $20,000 for rehashing what she called their "frivolous" legal arguments on multiple issues.
On Wednesday, James refused the demand, saying that just because there was now a more "complete record" did not make legal arguments that courts have repeatedly rejected any better.
James is suing Trump, his sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, and others for allegedly inflating asset values in a decade of annual financial statements to obtain better terms on loans and insurance.
The attorney general said the fraud enabled Trump to inflate his net worth by as much as $2.23 billion, and that he should be found liable for fraud even before a trial began. ***

It’s about justice. Donald Trump is just a man, I don’t really care about him personally... I do support his agenda.
But what he endured was really directed at us. The Left hates America and Americans. Their real outrage isn’t over Trump, but those who support him, or, more specifically, what he stands for.

On one hand, it’s the responsibility of banks and insurance companies to make independent estimates of the value of assets used for collateral or to be insured. On the other hand, fraud only occurs when there is an injured party. From my understanding there is no injured party.

There is too much to say to respond fully. DeSantis is not the man and has demonstrated his positions voting for TPP and cosponsoring a bill for Puerto Rican statehood. Not to mention the duplicity of not serving a month of his term before going back on promises to Floridians. Announcing in Israel a bill to curtail free speech of Floridians, getting the legislature to change the law so he didn’t have to resign to run for POTUS. The list goes on. DeSantis put his own agenda above the good of the American people. He is not the man to MAGA.

This is beyond bogus. “Favorable loans”? Is the government working on behalf of the bank now? If you give someone loan and they put up collateral it’s up to the person giving the loan to determine and conform if the value of the asset suffices. Condos in the NY hellhole go for millions, that is truly inflated ad no one wants to live in that rat dump. Luckily they have a lot of foreign buyers laundering their money.

When the government is overrun by tyrants the people have an absolute obligation to defend their rights and country. There is a clear backup plan enshrined in the bill of rights and the constitution.
Even I’d true they are making a criminal case out of a banks business decision. Loans aren’t given solely on a person’s net worth.

As noted this is a civil case. A case which will impugn the professional lawyers and accountants who Trump employs to run his various business interests. Therefore any liability is $$$ just simply another was to pick his corporate pocket and on the unrelated criminal matters remove him from the presidential ballot.
