Yes, unconstitutional.

States may not interfere with navigable rivers.

Texas is violating the constitution and the law with this crap

They will lose.

Go away for telling you the truth?

Amazing how many so called “conservatives” are utterly ignorant of oppression when it is framed in a way they “like”

No state has the right to interfere with any navigable waterway.. Texas is violating every citizens rights with this crap.

They will lose in court, big time.

This is why US “conservatives” are such perpetual losers.

The Democrats don’t care about the Constitution. They do what works and play to win.

When some Repub politician actually comes up with action that protects the interests of their State, all the usual suspects weigh in with “Muh’ Constitution”, “Da rule of law”. etc.

The US Constitution is dead. At this point, “Reverence for the Consitution” is worshipping the dead.

the area is not “navigable.” Have you been there or seen it on video. In fact rafts could go back and forth on each side and small boats and they do. , but larger ships no way.

Hate to break this to you, but yes the RIO Grande is considered a navigable river.

Texas will lose this case as they should.

Folks can “believe” otherwise, but when the case is all settled and all the appeals are done, Texas will lose, and rightly so.

The river is open because the “barricades” run with the flow of water not side to side from the banks.

Sorry but no, the free navigation of rivers is sacrosanct. Putting up a barrier in the middle is not constitutional.

Folks are jumping through hoops of ignorance to defend the illegal and unconstitutional actions of Texas.

When the appeals are all done, Texas will be bitched slapped and rightly so.

People are free to try to delude themselves otherwise, but when the dust settles Texas will lose.

Umm...the Appeals court has allowed the barrier to stay for now. Apparently they do not agree with you. The barrier is actually a safety device and is only along part of the Rio Grande that has dangerous swift currents.

What the appeals court did, was not force them to be removed while the lawsuit played out, that is NOT a finding in their favor.

The Rio Grande, is by legal definition, a navigable river, and Texas is in direct violation of the constitution.

This will play its way through the courts, and when the dust settles Texas will lose, its not complicated folks.

It’s very very simple, but ignorance sadly makes people twist themselves in knots trying to justify a position that is just not defensible constitutionally

Go back and actually read the Treaty of Guadalupe, which ended the Mexican America war, and you will see just how insanely idiotic the stand that Texas can do this is.

Texas is violating every citizens rights, and restricting their ability to freely move.. I know, today we have cars and trucks, but reality is Rivers and navigable bodies of water cannot be impeded in their use in any form, by ANY state, period. This isn’t a grey area. Texas by doing this is violating the sovereign rights of all US citizens... Those arguing it’s “OKAY because of other violations” are fools.

“I believe in the constitution, I am mad that others are violating it, but hey, when someone violates it in a way I want, well then that’s okay.”

Nonsensical argument.

Texas will lose this, it will play its way through the courts, but when it’s all said and done, they will lose, period.

Can come back to this thread when its all settled, long fron now and see what the outcome is, those who believe it will end in a manner different than I have stated, are ignorant or delusional.
