Business innovators used to think through and plan their product's evolution from drawing board, to factory, to owner, and thereafter until the product reached it's end date. No more.

It is now:

1. Pot-fueled half-a$$ed idea

2. Taxpayers pay me money.

3. Government requires taxpayers pay me more money.

Someone loses repeatedly in the above.

I haven’t heard any stories about EVs being stolen.

That might be one good thing about them.

My Mach e (a commuter car, I have other gasoline vehicles) is over 2 years old. My out of pocket after tax credit was a little over $50K. I can go 100 miles for $7 of home electricity…but I usually only drive 40 - 50 miles a day with it.

After 2 years my repairs have been tires (the OEM’s were only made to last 15K miles or so) and wiper blades.

I HATE that the gubmint is pushing them on people but I like this car a lot.

The earth? Even if it wasn’t a large mass of inert material it wouldn’t care what I did.

They should just catch fire & burn... and then no one would have to repair them

“EVs Are Awesome Except When They Break Down and There’s No One to Fix Them”

Some people simply CANNOT accept innovations in technology...all they do is bitch, rather than try to figure out a way to hot-wire their car, or find a solar farm to recharge it.

“Plugin vehicles are all the rage in the Chinese auto market. Plugins scored 600,000 sales last month, up 54% year over year (YoY). That pulled the year-to-date (YTD) tally to over 2.5 million units.

“Share-wise, with May showing another great performance, plugin vehicles hit 35% market share! Full electrics (BEVs) alone accounted for 24% of the country’s auto sales. This pulled the 2023 share to 35% (24% BEVs), and considering the current growth rate, we can assume that China’s plugin vehicle market share will end over 40% by the end of 2023.

“Another measure of the importance of this market is the fact that China alone represented around 60% of global plugin registrations last month!”

Also, their tires wear out twice as fast. They’re also very expensive.

“It seems like too obvious a detail to overlook. And it’s going to blow up the EV industry once a couple of millions of them are on the road.”

We passed two million years ago! No blowup yet.

The infrastructure surrounding ICE vehicles is now over 100 years old; it took a long time to get it to the current level. Expecting the EV infrastructure to get anywhere near that level in 10-20 years seems.... optimistic. That includes refueling locations, reliability of the equipment, support such as repair techs, and keep going down the list.

Since the government is so heavily involved in dictating the environment, I expect it will soon look like getting the government involved in managing the Sahara; soon there will be a shortage of sand.

One more thing; since EV's don't have to worry about CAFE requirements (yet), why don't they have real bumpers with shock-absorbing protection against low-speed impacts? Based on the horror stories I see about the cost of repairing even little bumps, it seems that reducing the impact of collisions would be a good thing for the infrastructure.

“And the specialized diagnostic equipment needed to service EV’s is putting off most small, independent repair shops”

I heard that when they started putting computers in cars small independents were doomed.

Elon Musk will never get off the ground.
Tesla will be bankrupt before the first car is built.
Tesla can never sell enough cars to pay for their new factory.
Only a handful of millionaire Californians will ever want a Tesla.
There’s no way Tesla can ever sell enough cars to make a profit.
Tesla only makes profits by selling green credits.
Without government subsidies, Tesla will never make a profit.
Tesla stocks ought to be junk grade.
Tesla demand will never keep up with the planned expansions.
Tesla will never crack into the mainstream car market.
Sell Tesla short immediately!
Tesla’s stock will crash like bitcoin.
Musk will bankrupt Tesla with his antics.

Tesla is now the most valuable manufacturing corporation on the planet, making the number one car in America.

Sorry, but of the 800 BILLION dollars that Tesla is now worth, only a couple billion come from subsidies or selling green credit. All you Tesla skeptics have been giving terribly wrong, terribly bad advice for years, and yet you never stop.

Best not have a collision with another EV either. Watch the video to see what happens. Look in the sky for shrapnel at about 39 seconds in.

Cooter has already said that he will not be repairing any EV’s, period.
So the Duke boys had better forget about buying an electric General Lee.

“ So you got yourself a brand new, $70,000 subsidized electric vehicle (EV), and everyone on your block is envious”

Wrong. I bought two hot rods with 6.2 liter V8’s one of them is supercharged. Kids from my block stop and tell me how cool they are and how loud they sound when I crank them up.
