What does the local party machine do?
Tries to get lots of Republicans registered and to the polls.
Grooms potential new candidates to develop people who can win elections and do a competent job at whatever they get elected to.
Guides candidates through the administrative processes to get on the ballot, gets necessary signatures, etc.
Ensures the best candidates make it through the primary process. With “best” being defined by the party structure as people who will keep donors happy.
Works at getting out the vote and getting people enthusiastic about getting Republicans elected.
Do ad buys, and otherwise promote their candidates and cut down opposition candidates.
To accomplish that, local and state party organizations need to get people, volunteers and paid staff, to get all the above done.
I’m sure I’ve missed some jobs above.
The existing party organization necessarily needs to please the people who supply the money to get it all done. These donors do not necessarily align with MAGA. Many of them may be leftists to want to ensure that RINO candidates get elected in red districts where Democrats have no chance. The need to please the donor class shapes the Republican organization.
Republican organizations are not about winning. They are about getting the funding to pay the bills and salaries.
To accomplish that, local and state party organizations need to get people, volunteers and paid staff, to get all the above done.

I’m on board, where do I report for service? I was active in the local Tea Party for a couple of years, and should have assumed a more active role in recruitment, etc. Unfortunately, instead of increasing, membership hovered around 25 and gradually decreased until the group went belly up!
