My advise for DeSantis (and I’m sure he wouldn’t take that advise) would be for him to call a press conference and not only announce he is pulling out of the race and announce his full unconditional support for Donald Trump - who is a victim of malicious prosecution by rabid Democrats who have no quals about abusing the judicial system for their own political purposes; a situation that endangers ALL Americans.
He should be active in supporting DJT, traveling and speaking on his behalf throughout the campaign, then go back (after the election) to completing the job of governing Florida and not become a Washington insider / cabinet member.
If he does this, then, if Trump wins-or-gets cheated out of his rightful ascension to the White House again, DeSantis would waltz to the Republican nomination in 2028. The Trumpians would forgive him for what has been, so far, this year, his anti-Trump tirades and there would be no other Republican who could successfully challenge him for the nomination, with the possible exemption of whoever serves #47 Trump as VP.
However, my kids don’t listen to me, so I’m certain DeSantis wouldn’t either !!
The Ron to the Rescue thing was nothing. Never Back Down pulling back on door knocking is more significant since that’s his key PAC.

I’ve said from the beginning, the more people get to know DeSantis the less they like him.
Actually, he could use the hurricane as the perfect excuse for an exit ramp off the nightmare highway he has been on.
