That’s argument is just silly - and you know it.

Before or after-
if you are local, take a break and vote.-
If you received a paycheck, by law in many states, they must give you time to go and cash that check. Why not to vote?-
Have your Non-Voter co-workers cover for an hour or so.
Have your H1-B Visa co-workers cover for you.
Union Labor Rules also give time for folks to go and vote.

so many options, besides (”but my case is an exception . . .”)
If it’s important, there are always ways to fix things.
It’s an hour, one day, for many it’s only every four years.
