Chris Christie is amazed that his fellow 2024 hopefuls will still support Donald Trump if he becomes the nominee and is also convicted of a crime in one of his four indictments.
The former New Jersey Governor predicted that after skipping the first Republican debate on Wednesday, Trump will also opt to not attend the second debate at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California next month.
Christie says Trump won't want to be compared to Reagan's 'honest, direct' conservatism.
As one of the eight candidates on stage at the Milwaukee, Wicosnin debate on Wednesday, Christie was only joined by former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson is saying they wouldn't back Trump's candidacy if he were convicted of a crime.
In order to participate in the debate, candidates were required to sign a pledge put forward by the Republican National Committee (RNC) vowing to support the GOP nominee for president in 2024. But Hutchinson and Christie signaled they would go back on that pledge if Trump is convicted of a crime.

for all practical purposes, the GOP primary debates are now over ...
everyone got a chance to see how the also-rans and one-percenters would snipe at each other over petty nonsense, while pretty much avoiding the main issues facing this country: nearly total censorship by the fascist left, a failing economy whipsawed first by massive inflation by printing trillions of dollars and flinging them into sky followed by the fastest and largest interest rates hikes by the Fed in history, open borders, massively rigged elections, fascist lawfare attacks by the fascist Deep State against their main opponent, yet ANOTHER near-world-war, deliberate destruction of our country’s energy production, and on and on and on ...
this pointless farce has now been shown to barely move any of the polling needles, which was really the supposed main point of the “debates” in the first place: give folks a chance to change their minds about who they support ...
now that the first debate has been seen to be a big nothing-burger, there’s really no point in watching repeats: if you’ve seen one nothing-burger debate, then you’ve seen ‘em all ...
my prediction is that subsequent debates will hemorrhage viewers until almost no one watches any more and/or remaining “debates” will be cancelled for lack of interest ...
The post-indictment polling agrees with you. Trump is basically in the position of an incumbent.
I think somewhere up in Heaven, Pres. Reagan is madder than heck at what’s happened to his library...
I expect him to skip it as well, but not because of Reagan, but because the rest of the field is just a bunch of circus clowns...
They have zero shot at being the nominee or influencing the election in any way.
And that is the reality and has been since Jan 7, 2021...
This “primary” is simply attempts by the establishment who rigged the election in 2020 to get rid of him, to continue to try to stop him... nothing more.
Trump was the nominee as of Jan 7, 2021, as long as he decided to run.. he did, and he is... so the circus that is the other 10 or 12 or however many candidates there are running against him is a clown show at best. Watching these nitwits fight over what will in the end be almost certainly a combined total of 30% of the vote or less is comical... and it exposes the establishment for what it is.
Lest look at that last debate shall we.... was election integrity even mentioned? NOPE..
Why? Is it because voters don’t care? ... Oh no, voters, particularly republican primary voters care a LOT.... but the establishment doesn’t...
Trump should just simulcast commentary on the debate in livestream or something, he’ll get multiple times the viewers and can present his views without “moderators” interrupting and lying.
How did you post to this thread without a comment #1 field? I alerted the OP when he first posted this. Is my browser flaking out?
why bother. what is the difference between a donut standing at a podium and a donut sitting on a counter? one is less likely to be taken seriously. you guess which one.
Christie and Asa sure are impressive candidates. 1% support getting all this attention, hmmm, I wonder why.
Doesn’t cost him anything to say it.
I predict Chris Chrissy will continue to be a fat slob and resembles Michael Moore
Wow, Crispy is a real rocket doctor. Trump already said he’s not doing the debates with the elves.
Trump's ceiling is that he'll get mid 40s of the electorate and that won't be enough to win the EC in 2024.
Keep Reagan’s name out your fat mouth!
Whatever you say.
Here’s the fact White Lizzo and the GOP establishment won’t admit:
The weaponization of the Department of INJustice under Grand Moff Garland is so complete that Trump CANNOT go on a debate stage with Mike Pence (who is a witness in Smith’s case). Trump dare not say a single word to Pence, because Smith will then concoct a whole new case of “witness tampering.”
At the same time, as you say, the primaries are over. Trump is now crushing DeSoros by 30 in FLORIDA (DeSoros doesn’t win a SINGLE DEMOGRAPHIC!!). New polls show Trump beating Rutabaga handily in a national race. Remember he didn’t lead once in 2020 in the polls.
So their only hope of stopping him now is in the courts.
Christie doesn’t know his a$$ from his elbow. Are the posts from him an attempt at humor ridicule?

absolutely ... PLUS, pretty much everything else trump might say would very likely result in new and/or additional bogus charges ...
” Is my browser flaking out?”
no, your browser was fine: the webpage was indeed broken ... however, posting URLs are constructed from a template that’s pretty easy to figure out and can be used to construct ones own posting links IF one is familiar with such technicalities ...
well, since trump’s poll numbers went UP by SKIPPING the first clown-car “debate”, it pretty much seems like a no-brainer to keep on skipping ‘em ...
