14 mph forward speed is fast for a storm to grow but the water is hot and steering currents must be light. At 14 mph a lot of folks will get a break from storms that just sit and rain with wind at slower speeds. But,this is no storm to ignore its gonna get big.

Once again no telling how many hours you put into this many of us appreciate what you do.

Agree, the size of Idalia will provide widespread effects--including the rain we need.

For the uninformed: Once a hurricane makes landfall, the wind field expands.
