With a state full of senior citizens and geographically low elevation, the state of emergency at this date provides the time necessary to preposition assets and to prepare for the inevitable landfall.

The responsible thing to do to prevent people from becoming indifferent to these important alerts is issue an advisory on a prediction, then elevate it to a warning as the area of impact is better defined, then issue a state of emergency when it hits.

As for your personal animosity: Be advised that what you think of me -- what you think of anything for that matter -- means so little to me that I have difficulty putting it into words ... and I am very good with words.
