Tropical Depression 10 has formed between the Yucatan Peninsula and the Western Tip of Cuba. Governor DeSantis issued a state of emergency for 33 Florida counties in advance of the system.

}{€££ they will just have the fema nazis stop people that are transporting personally owned generators and steal them just like they did with katrina and other ‘canes before and not even compensate or say thank or fork you to the people they steal them from.
I’ll bet that doesn’t apply to pain meds. And I don’t mean NSAID’s.
When emergency generators are outlawed, only outlaws will own emergency generators.
I heard the announcement yesterday—it actually does include scheduled drugs. Imagine drug withdrawal during a hurricane would be a little worse than an otherwise bad day.
I left Chiefland about 12:30 p.m. today. Took 47 to I75. No clogs. Did 70 mph all the way to Valdosta.
Now hunkering down in a hotel in Valdosta..

Are you seeing a lot of north Floridians in that area?
Good to see you! Is the cane going to cause damage where you are?
My sister in Jacksonville informed me that Jim Cantore is near Cedar Key. So you know the weather there will suck.
Prayers up for all in the path.

Isn’t Crystal River in an evac zone? I just moved to Inverness last summer and going through my second hurricane season. Inverness is well inland so we mostly just worry bout strong winds and the trees in our yard.
Thanks for once again running this thread.
Hope all remain safe.
“If there was anything close to a good place for a hurricane to make landfall in Florida, this area looks to be as good as any.”
The manatees won’t think so. We were just there last week, and a hurricane is the last thing the area needs. One thing about rural areas is that governments tend to put the most resources in cities, so that area will have little to work with for awhile.
Be honest, I’m the only vehicle in the entire parking lot..front desk lady says that’ll change later on..
I hear you
I looked at Pass Christian and Bay St Louis Mississippi
Cheap and close to NOLA for old folks medical and big city needs and two hours from literally 50-100 of my kinfolks
New home for insurance requires 20-30 foot elevation stilts
Hence outdoor elevators are common next to the stairs
Miss gulf coast historically takes record hits
LOL - I remember thunder snow. Although I’ve never seen it put to song!
Probably won’t be any of that with Idalia though.
When Cantore shows up, you’re in for a whole lot of “climate change” scolding, some fake weather disasters, spittle coming from his mouth and maybe a little talk about a hurricane. He’s. The. Absolute. Worst. I’ve lived through MANY Jim Cantore “hurricane reports”. He’s an ass
