Tropical Depression 10 has formed between the Yucatan Peninsula and the Western Tip of Cuba. Governor DeSantis issued a state of emergency for 33 Florida counties in advance of the system.

Early this morning the Yucatan buoy not too far from the storm recorded this in knots:

That’s 40.8 knots sustained with a gust of 56.3 or
47 mph sustained along with a gust of 64 mph now thats before this thing even gets going it has gusts near hurricane force,
this bears wathcing,IMHO.

Pinellas County (St. Pete/Clearwater) begrudgingly called for Zone A evacuations late this afternoon. Could be a lot of the inertia and apathy is due to the state of the nation, with the worst excuse for a POTUS in history.

St.Pete and Clearwater will certainly be in the fray of all this. Will they get a direct hit? No one knows but why risk it all.
